He's had to put out basically a grim apology, so that can't be too great, can it?

Hi, guys. Hey, Molly! Molly, hi everyone. Welcome back to Britcoiners-episode 146.

Agenda this week: we've got Peter Todd, Michael Saylor, the IMF Chief Economist... uh... economist. I can never get through this-Economist! Economist!

We'll cover BRICS' new bank, Microsoft, Cardano (you take that), Standard Chartered, a new Satoshi statue, Emory University, and more. Cool. But kicking off with the price-bit of price action last night-a lot of price action last night. Price yesterday, all day.

Why are we up at 4 a.m.? Is this a bull run?

"Inom back." "Oober keeps you up." "Yeah, no lie. The last bull run I had a lot of issues sleeping. I don't know why-just so in sync with the Bitcoin price."

Okay, that's weird.

Is that a day chart?

"Yeah, so we're at 71,144." "Mhm." "What were all-time highs? 74,500-ish, I think we got to, didn't we?" "Getting there. What was the price last pod, just for a little comparison?" "Last pod was 67. 67,675." "67,144 for me."

October was never in doubt. Everyone on Twitter said October was never in doubt, right? So Dave didn't know that October was in doubt on October 1st because, for me, that's just silly. October can't be in doubt on the first day of October.

"But that's what Twitter is-memes and all that. It's all part of it." "I don't believe you guys." "Don't celebrate too soon! October 1 price went down-everyone was tweeting that. But see at the end of October."

Well, Dave's not in S anymore.

"You guys read two tweets and think it's a lot more. It was all over." "No Bitcoiner would judge a month on the first day." "They 100% did. Jokingly-it was memes-but they did."

Okay, anyway. But let's just enjoy the run.

"Oober, Dave, you're so positive today." "Mhm, it's 'cause last week's controversial topics unfortunately got a lot of support for my opinion on self-custody." "You haven't had a single bit of support." "My DMs have been full." "You haven't logged into Twitter for months!" "Who said Twitter DMs? Just DMs. They're everywhere!"

How to L?

"I think we got my favourite YouTube comment we've ever had. Did you guys see it on last week's pod?" "Yeah, I did. It was about the abusing of the content, wasn't it?" "Well, no, no-it was like, 'Oh, the camera's really great now. You just need to improve the content.'"

Yeah, yeah, that's a good point. Actually, no, I recognized that account because he's been around for a long time. Still here, despite the... crappy content.

"Stop listening!" "No, he just mutes it. He just watches for the camera quality." "Mute and watch."

Anyway, agenda! Right, let's start.

So, Peter Todd was forced into hiding for fear of his safety after the HBO documentary claimed he invented Bitcoin.

"Should I just take this one, mainly to highlight..." "Is that a serious headline? Sorry, I didn't actually read this." "Yeah." "I shouldn't be laughing, but it sounds silly, almost."

Well, no, but I think it's important to-I don't know whether we mentioned it before-he was revealed, but just the impact of claiming people as Satoshi.

"I read somewhere he was receiving hundreds of emails a day from journalists wanting to talk to him off the back of this, and then..."

Why is he scared for his safety? Did he say that himself?

"He's a very trolly guy. I don't know if he's... Does hiding mean he's just not on socials?"

"I wonder if he's trolling. He trolls a lot, and it wouldn't surprise me if he jokingly said something and then headlines ran with it. I've not read this, though."

I think you're right. He would definitely have been bombarded with... I think, regardless, claiming someone is Satoshi really has a bigger impact than you realize on their life.
