I don't even want you there 'cause you just be so, like, full of that—full of that spite, bitterness from ten years ago, seven years ago, and five years ago. Yeah, sure, but that's not what a politician wants to hear, is it? I don't care what they want to hear. Does that sound help as well, or should I just actually do a CL? 'Cause actually, that broadens the wave, wouldn't it? Cheers. Yeah, let's go.
Um, hi, guys, welcome back. This is Britcoin, episode 162.
Agenda this week: We've got the Bitcoin actors back, Rumble buying Bitcoin, Jameson Lopp and Quantum-vulnerable Bitcoin—that sounds interesting, Josh Vandal strategy, Elon Musk (the B-whale), and some CoinCorner news.
Thinking about it, we might want to go quick to get to the CoinCorner news, actually. Well, we can't. Why don't we just do CoinCorner news at the top? No, I just mean we'll speed the others up.
Will we tease an announcement, or—people watching at home could just skip to the CoinCorner news because we've actually got CoinCorner news. Yeah, once Mikey provides the breakdown of the little menu—so go to the menu if you just want to hear the CoinCorner news.
I thought they watched the whole video. Yeah, you would—hey, you can just select it, go to the CoinCorner news, 'cause we've actually got some. Just hit stop now, then. Just record later? Yeah, stop what you're doing, just go to the CoinCorner news.
We'll just fill in the blank, we'll just leave it blank here and then—Do you know when Dave says he'd be good at marketing? Yeah. No, absolutely not. This is the opposite. You don't think? No. All right, fine. Anyway—
Okay, quick price update. Current price—we're at 82.7. We’re down slightly. Are you up on seven days ago? Very static, though, and it's not doing all that—Just up. Pretty crazy. Crazy, man. But it's not moving much out of that range. She's moving. It's been crazy. She's bouncing.
Depends what Trump and Zelenskyy and Putin get up to. It's all over the shop. And we have had the B-whale saga for the last couple of days, which has been entertaining in some respects to watch.
Do you want to come onto that first? May as well.
Okay, B-whale—who or what is the B-whale? So, this comes from back in 2014, I think it was—2013, 2014. It was 2014. And after it had gone past $1,000 and come back down again, there was a guy—I think it was on Bitfinex?
I think he was on Bitfinex. But he was basically just trying to short Bitcoin in some sense. Obviously, there wasn't the capability to really do that back then, but he was selling and trying to force the price down by selling a lot of Bitcoin. And he was just known as the B-whale.
So, 2014. So this, it was kind of public, and everyone was watching it, and it was just a bit of a thing that people were watching on Reddit and paying attention to before the Twitter days.
This one now, again, he's done it publicly. So obviously, you can go on one of the centralised exchanges and short Bitcoin if you want. But he was doing it on HyperLiquid, I believe, which is like a decentralised exchange in respect. Say "decentralised" loosely.
So he was shorting it publicly but with a big position. It did frustrate me a little bit how much—'cause he didn't—He only put in initially, I think, something like $4 million down, but with—Was it 40x leverage? Might be more than that.
$8 million on 40x leverage, whatever it was. So he didn't put that much down, but it was on a Sunday. Was it Sunday morning? Something like that.
